Latest Generation Medium Shelter System
Designed specifically for the United States Air Force (USAF), the Alaska Medium Shelter Systemâ„¢ is the official Medium Shelter System. Tested down range and field-proven, it represents the latest and improved generation of Medium Shelters compared to previous shelter models. With enhancements that directly address USAF mission requirements, this Medium Shelter delivers unmatched durability, flexibility, and long-term value in demanding environments.
Key Improvements Over Earlier-Generation Systems
The Alaska Medium Shelter Systemâ„¢ incorporates major advancements that directly address the shortcomings of earlier-generation medium shelters:
- Fully powder-coated frame – earlier Medium Shelters only had powder-coated base components, leaving the rest of the structure prone to corrosion.
- LED high bay lighting – Replaces outdated incandescent string lights with energy-efficient, mission-ready illumination.
- Insulated end panels – Earlier designs lacked integrated insulation, resulting in higher energy loss and reduced environmental control.
- Faster production and delivery – Earlier-generation Medium Shelters had extended lead times; the Alaska Medium Shelter System™ ensures rapid production and delivery to meet urgent USAF deployment requirements.
Medium Shelter Applications
Developed to meet the operational needs of the USAF, the Alaska Medium Shelter Systemâ„¢ provides rapid setup and strike capability for a wide range of Air Force mission requirements, including:
- Billeting Camps / Sleeping Quarters – Scalable troop housing in forward or enduring operations.
- Vehicle and Equipment Storage / Maintenance & Repair Facilities – Large open-span interiors provide secure space for storing vehicles and conducting field-level maintenance.
- MWR Facilities – Configurable shelters for recreation, fitness, and troop morale.
- Classroom Facilities – Rapidly deployable training and education spaces.
- RSOI Maintenance & Storage Facilities – Reception, Staging, Onward Movement, and Integration support facilities.
- Dining Facilities (DFACs) – Field-ready shelters for food service and troop support.
- UAV and TUAV Hangars – Mission-specific hangar solutions for unmanned aerial systems.
- Command Centers & Communication Facilities – Secure, climate-controlled environments for command, control, and communications.
Engineered for USAF flexibility, the Alaska Medium Shelter Systemâ„¢ supports critical functions across all Air Force mission sets and theaters of operation.
